A good day!

I may not have gotten the job I wanted. But today, I received one of the best news I have ever received in a very long time.

My sister Blanche's (third from left) MRI results a few months ago were pretty disheartening. After about 6 months without chemotherapy, the tumor inside her head seemed to be growing again, and some nodules have formed in other places in her brain. Hearing that news, I was devastated. I thought this was it. Time was, once again, running out for her, and for our family. The only solution, according to the doctor, was another craniotomy. Not in a week or a month, but as soon as possible.

Fortunately our family is held together not by only one strong woman, but two. My mother, despite being saddened by the news, never gave up hope. She spent countless hours scouring the internet looking for alternative ways to combat cancer without having to resort to surgery again. Of course everyone, including myself, was against this. But mom, being the stubborn woman that she is, brushed all the skepticism aside. She went to Manila, purchased the alternative treatment, and made my sister take it religiously. That was two months ago.

The MRI results today showed a complete reversal of everything that was found a couple of months ago. The nodules are gone. The tumor itself is showing signs of necrosis. It is not completely gone, but this is nonetheless very good news.

I won't write which alternative treatment my sister has been taking. You can write me a private message if you want to know. But suffice it to say, with prayers, faith, and lots of love, we are once again winning the battle against this horrible disease.
