Turist i egen by (tourist in one's own city)
I always appreciate the days when I don't have anything else to do than go out and just take pictures. Oslo actually encourages it's citizens to be a "tourist in their own city" (hence the title). I was actually planning on going to Østensjøvannet (the bird sanctuary), but decided to just walk the streets of Oslo instead and just take some street snaps.
I am slowly but surely getting used to the heft of my new camera now. The size and weight does indeed give you a reassuring feeling. You know you are using a high-grade, robust equipment. And, believe it or not, it's also a good "disguise". Carrying equipment this advanced makes people think I am a non-resident of Oslo, and therefore more willing to let me take pictures of them.
I have been walking and taking pictures all over Oslo now for the past 6 months. I feel that I know this city already inside and out. It's also becoming more and more difficult to get inspired, when you know that you have taken the same motives already in the past. I think it's time to get back to the drawing board and find more places to explore and take pictures of.
