Adjusting to everything!

This is me right after we left the (horrible) airport in Manila and straight into a nearby restaurant to have lunch. The first thing I did was to immediately gulp down two of these.

Even though the rainy season is fast approaching, it is still very hot here in Luzon island! And this is something that will take a few weeks to get adjusted to.

I am pretty sure I will need to adjust to almost everything in this country. The heat, the traffic, the fact that it's not safe walking the streets alone, the food, the noise. The thunderstorms, hurricanes, earthquakes, crimes. The crowds. How it gets dark at exactly 6PM every single day of the year.

But I see the smiling faces of these two people and I know the sacrifice is worth it. My mom and my sister are of course glad to have me back. Minus my father, who passed away four years ago, we are once again a complete family.

I have to admit I will have to get used to living with these people again, too. But at least they know me a little, and I know them a lot. I have not been totally open to them about how I spent my adult life in Norway (not that there was anything to  hide). But now is the perfect time to once again get to know each other.

It has been 3 days since I arrived, and only one post written since! Time to stop being lazy and start going on adventures, I guess!
