My Precious!

It finally arrived! I have been waiting for it for weeks, and finally it is here! My new (or not new, but vintage) Pentax-A 50mm f2.0 lens. I wanted a lens which has a better construction and better bokeh for close-ups. And this sure cut the cake!

There are some drawbacks though. I can only manual focus with this lens. And since it is a macro lens the focusing range is long, so it can get tedious when focusing images at close range. But since this is a prime lens it is supposed to take sharper pictures.

And sharper images they are. As soon as I imported them to Apple Aperture I almost cried. The colors pop out and are brilliant. I should get more lenses like these!

I know that I will be taking more color photographs with this lens. And I who thought my life was a drab, which is why I was always taking pictures in black and white. But not anymore! I can't wait to test this baby out on the next photo assignment.
