Happy Easter!
One thing I know for sure: Easter in the Philippines will be totally different. It will not be as peaceful as the ones I have in Norway. But as long as I get to spend it with my family I can't really complain.
While the rest of Norway uses the five free days to use their skis and snowboards for one last time, I once again decided to spend the holidays at home, using the time I have between going out for long walks to take photographs and clean up the apartment (and especially the basement) and get ready vacate the premises.
I once again decided to visit Østensjøvannet. The lake is still covered in ice and people are still walking on the frozen water, meaning it will take quite a while before the thick layer of ice melts make the birds return.
There are, however, a few early birds (got the pun?). A couple of swans were swimming on the few patches of water that have opened from the frozen surface. And a lots and lots of ducks. Ducks don't seem to mind the frozen lake, as long as they get food from the visitors.
It was a nice and peaceful walk. And I am so glad to have a camera to take pictures with again. I have to make good use of the little time I have left in this country to savor the places I love going to.
And Østensjøvannet will definitely be one of those places I will keep coming back to during the weekends. It will surely be one of the places I will miss the most. This is the definitive place in Oslo which has turned me into a better photographer, and definitely a great place to learn to take wildlife shots.
With places like these so close to where I live, I really don't need to go spend the Easter holidays anywhere else.
That is all for now. I wish everyone a happy Easter and I hope you enjoyed the few days off as much as I have!
