The unexpected Christmas present
It's the typical childhood Christmas wish, a puppy. To be frank, I never really wished for one when I was a kid. Pets were something our household never really lacked. Mom is a crazy cat lady of sorts, and we always had a dog or two to guard the house and warn us when strangers are approaching. So no, I never really wished for a puppy when I was a kid.
Christmas 2013, at 30 plus years of age, THAT is exactly what I got. Everyone meet Milo.
This 6-month old dachshund is a real bundle of joy, and, to be honest, also a real pain in the behind right from the get go! I have only managed to take two photographs, since taking pictures of this tiny beast is no easy feat!
To be honest I am still in a state of shock, and I know that I have to make some adjustments in my life, and finances, to accommodate the newest member of the family. He may be hyperactive, high-pitched, and unhygienic at times, but he's family now. And we will just have to do our best to love him and take care of him, like we take care of our cats.
At least I know have a new subject (albeit an unwilling one, obviously) to photograph! Now if I can just find a shutter speed that is faster than Milo's movements!
