Fire!

The weekends are too short :-(

At least I was able to shake off the night shift clock off my system and was able to spend some quality time with my family back in Angeles City. And what better way to spend it than at a fancy restaurant eating to our heart's content.

I wasn't able to take pictures of the food (the internet it full of those anyway). But, being grill night, the Mequeni Restaurant at Holiday Inn Clark did provide some worthwhile entertainment: fire dancers!

These dancers were supposed to be from the Zoocobia Fun Park also here in Pampanga. The fire blowers were particularly impressive. I cannot imagine doing what they do: taking in fuel in their mouth and spitting it out on a lit torch to create a colossal ball of fire. Talk about occupational hazard! It was a fun-filled evening. But the very dark dining area (it was al fresco) made photographing very difficult. Photographing fire dancers and fire blowers require technique which I haven't learned (until I researched it afterwards), so we were only able to get away with two pictures (which pretty much looked identical, so I am posting just one).

Fun's over now. Tomorrow I am starting my first day at work as a trainer for some new colleagues from Scandinavia. I think I am more nervous about it than they are! Hopefully the educator genes I inherited from my mother's side of the family will shine through!
